What is an inclined platform lift?

An inclined platform lift is one which, as the name would suggest, can travel up an incline rather than just going vertically; this makes them a great alternative to a stair lift. If the person who is needing better access to the upper levels of their house is permanently in a wheelchair or isn’t mobile enough to hoist themselves into a chair then an inclined platform lift can be a good solution. They can allow people to remain their wheelchair but still move them smoothly and efficiently up to the next level of their house.

Inclined platform lifts also make great additions to the disabled access policies of public buildings- they are environmentally friendly but also are incredibly safe and thus, if you are looking to include them in a public place- they can meet even the most stringent of safety rules. Inclined platform lifts are an expensive option but, with a range of second hand ones on the market and the option of renting one, there are plenty of ways of getting around paying out a big lump sum- some companies may even have credit schemes to help you spread the cost.
