What is a wheelchair platform lift?

A wheelchair platform lift does essentially the same job that a normal wheelchair lift does it is simply a much more simple design and, it could be argued, is not as aesthetically pleasing as its more grand sibling.

The simple platform lift, used in many other areas of life as well, can be used to assist wheelchair-users in getting in and out of their car or to help them traverse tricky steps or other fluctuations in the gradient of the ground.  They can be used in the home to help dodge a tricky step and they can be used in public places as well for the same purpose. They can also be used to help with the loading of a wheelchair into the back of a car; they are an alternative to a full-on wheelchair lift in a vehicle and are also much smaller and thus easier to store.
