What are the usual types of vehicle lifting?

The usual types of vehicle lifting which one finds with the car repair and mechanic industries are, essentially, the ones which have already been discussed here.  Vehicle lifts are clearly the main type of vehicle lifting which is employed and, as the rest of these articles hopefully attest to, there are many different forms and variations on the vehicle lift meaning that it is highly flexible and adaptable and can be used in a great number of different scenarios.

Other than vehicle lifts, there are jacks which can be used to raise vehicles just slightly off the floor and these are often used in smaller garages or indeed by ordinary members of the public when a wheel needs to be changed or checked or when a problem on the chassis on the car needs to be checked out.  It is very rare that any other form of lifting, other than using a vehicle lift would be employed. Often a vehicle ramp will be used to raise up a car, but these are often used in conjunction with vehicle lifts as well- although sometimes they are used independently as well.
