The main saving with this type of lift is made because there is no need for a costly load-bearing lift shaft to be installed.  The other main type of lift which people generally purchase is the more traditional form which has a load-bearing lift-shaft; these types of lift come with a variety of passenger cars but all work on either the hydraulic system or the pulley system; with the former being the most popular.
