What are the different types of dumbwaiter lift?

Although the governing principles of how dumbwaiter lifts work are the same for whatever type you are considering, there are a couple of different types available which it would be well worth getting your head around if you are considering purchasing one. Whilst on this note, if you are considering purchasing a dumbwaiter then it is advisable that you also check out the information on service lifts which is provided on this website.  You may well find that service lifts do the job which you are wanting your dumbwaiter to do, only they do it much more efficiently and with a capacity for bigger loads.

The more modern dumbwaiters are generally controlled by an electronic motor and some are now even going one step further and are being controlled by automatic control systems. There are also more recent dumbwaiters which are capable of carrying much heavier loads; up to 1000 pounds of books or medical equipment can be placed on them and transported between floors. It seems fair to say that the tradition of the dumbwaiter, somewhat overshadowed by the advent of the service lift, is being kept alive because the principles behind it are ever changing.
