When should you use a telescopic forklift?

Telescopic forklifts are generally powered by gas or diesel; the vehicle gets its name from a fixed outer mast and a movable inner mast section- the likeness to the old-style telescopes is clearly where the name given to the vehicle originates from. They are suitable for when extremely heavy weights need to be lifted to quite high heights- telescopic forklifts can generally lift weights of around 10 tonne, sometimes even more and, if this were not impressive enough, they can lift these huge loads to a height of around 15 metres or more! This clearly makes them very useful for heavy industry and also means that they are a great alternative to bringing in heavy forms of lift equipment which can often be much more expensive than forklifts are. They are available in either 2 or 4 wheel drive which means they have great balance and can work on a number of different terrains as well. So, if you have heavy lifting to do a telescopic forklift could really help your company but, for smaller loads it probably isn’t quite as suitable and thus you should consider one of the other.
