Who is suitable for using bath seats?
Essentially, there is no fixed answer to this question, anyone with mobility problems or joint aches or back pains could really benefit from the advantages which a bath chair could bring into their lives. As we have already touched upon, you still need a good deal of upper body strength to be able to support yourself whilst getting into the bath and balance so that you can sit on the chair safely without danger of falling. This means that the product is probably not really suitable for the very old, nor is it really the solution for those who have upper-body impairments- there are other solutions out there, many of them discussed here, which would probably be able to help you much more so than a bath seat could do.
Bath seats are really for people who have trouble climbing out of the bath once they have been laid there; perhaps arthritis is beginning to takes its toll or the joints just aren’t as supple as they once were when you were younger. Rather than sacrifice having a bath, bath seats offer an easy and convenient alternative, which keep many people washing the way they want to.
