How often should I get my elevator serviced?
This is not a question which can be answered with any uniformity or regularity. The answer to this question really all depends on how often the elevator is being used, what kind of weights it is being asked to carry and also how old it is. An older lift which has been carrying very bulky loads for many years will likely need servicing a lot more often, just to keep it running smoothly, than a newer lift would need. Talk to your supplier and they should be able to tell you how often you need to get your lift serviced; they may even be able to put you a plan in place which sets out when regular maintenance checks will take place.
On top of these regular checks, which should take place even if you don’t suspect anything is currently wrong with the elevator, you should also call in the service or maintenance team the moment you think there might the slightest thing wrong with the elevator. It’s not about over-reacting; it’s about protecting your employees or your customers and keeping everyone safe and secure, as well as ensuring that your business continues to be efficient.
