How often should you service a forklift truck?
This is a question to which there can really be no regulated answer given. Every forklift will be different. How often you need to service them can depend on a whole host of different variables, such as how old the forklift is, how often it is being used, what sort of terrain it is being asked to negotiate and what sort of weights it is being asked to lift on a regular basis.
When you talk to your supplier, they should be able to talk you through a service and maintenance program which will provide minimal disruption to your company but will also keep everything flowing smoothly. As well as the regular servicing of your forklift there is also the important thing of getting any problems checked out immediately. Don’t think that you can simply wait until the next maintenance check; any problems need to be dealt with swiftly and efficiently otherwise you may well end up in deeper trouble further down the line. It’s better to have temporary inconvenience now than to end up completely in the proverbial at a later date. Act now to help your company.
