Can I buy a second hand forklift?
The simple answer to this question is yes and you may well end up saving yourself some money in the short term but you also need to consider whether you will be paying out more in the long run. There are many reputable second hand forklifts, or ex-hire forklifts out there on the market and some will be in a much better state of repair than others. It is always best, if you are considering getting a second hand model, that you go through a reputable company rather than a simple private sale- this way you have more to fall back on and more industry expertise if something does go wrong. Clearly, second hand models are going to have seen more wear and tear and are, as such, going to need more service and maintenance; the main decision will come when weighing up whether the amount you spend on the model, the amount you end up saving, is going to be more than you will have to pay out over the next few years to keep your new forklift running and working. Do your research and don’t get caught out.
