Q. I need to get a bath lift for my dad. Do I need his height and weight to fit him for a specific bath lift or does one size fit all? Cheers
A. Bath lifts are not tailored to specific customers. There are maximum lifting weights, so check this if your Dad is a large gentleman. It’s a good idea to try before buying to make sure your Dad is comfortable with using the lift. Q. I am a bit concerned about the noise produced by the stair lift in the event that it is being used during the night house while the family is sleeping. Is the noise reasonable to deal with? What would you compare it to?
A. The noise produced will vary depending on which lift you choose, the noise tends to be minimal. It is best to see a lift and judge for yourself.

Q. My dumbwaiter is consistently breaking down mainly due to its age but it can also be overloaded at busy times. The lift was fitted over 10 years ago so it may need to be replaced but I am working within a budget so it all depends on how much this will all cost. Can we replace the lift and enable it to take more weight but still use some of the existing fittings to keep costs down?

With old dumbwaiters or service lifts often many of the parts are hard to replace so it is difficult for us at Innovate to comment without seeing the lift. Q. I have been asked the question from a church which has a lift for DDA purposes serving two floors. It has a lockable fire door at each floor which has to be opened by key to allow access to the lift car. This ‘external’ door is self closing and locking, so that if the lift fails there is no way of getting out of the lift car. Is this normal or meets current leglisation? Thanks.
A. Many Platform lifts have safety devices. All the lift Innovate Lifting Systems supply have a device so the passenger can be removed for the lift. The could be in the form of a key or a button. Also Innovate Lifting Systems offer an autodialler ( Telephone) within the platform lift so if any got stuck in the platform lift the alarm could be raised and the person removed from the platform lift quickly and safely.
