I need a bath lift that can be taken out of the bath after each use

Q. I need a bath lift that can be taken out of the bath after each use. We only plan on using it every so often so don’t want to spend to much but also I don’t want it permanently fitted. What type of lift do you think fits my needs best?

A. Look at the Bellavita on www.practicalbathing.co.uk

What would be the cost of a bath lift for a 1700″x 750″ sized bath, is there a brand you could suggest?

What if something goes wrong while using the bath lift, is there some kind of alarm?

Q. I am buying a bath lift for my mother. She is elderly and not too independent. What if something goes wrong while she is using it is there some kind of alarm or alert device on them?

A. If your mother is likely to require assistance then you should provide her with an alarm device or a mobile telephone to have near to hand. Bath lifts do not feature alarms. Most bath lifts will not permit their use if there is insufficient battery to safely lift the bather back up. The Bellavita or Relaxa are very good options, see www.practicalbathing.co.uk for details

Is there a portable bathlift I can buy?

Q. I am buying a bath lift for my grandfather. Can he take it with him when he travels or is it permanently installed in his home? Is there a portable verison available??

A. The bellavita we sell comes in 2 parts and is battery operated so it is transportable as is the bath buddy. The belt style bath lifts are fixed to the wall so are not portable.
