A. There are many local charities who may help, depending on which area you live in. Also you can contact your local authority; however this can be a long process. Some companies will offer finance however you will pay a lot more if you take this route.

Q. What is the maximum weight that a stair lift can carry? Can an overweight person safely fit and operate a stair lift?

A. The Maximum weight a stairlift can carry varies from manufactor to manufactor. For example the Bruno made by Home Adapt can carry about 29 Stone.

Q. I am a bit concerned about the noise produced by the stair lift in the event that it is being used during the night house while the family is sleeping. Is the noise reasonable to deal with? What would you compare it to?

A. The noise produced will vary depending on which lift you choose, the noise tends  to be minimal. It is best to see a lift and judge for yourself.
