What speed does an stairlift move

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: — admin @ 11:42 am

Q. what speed does an escalator move

A. Stairlifts normally have “soft” starts so the user is not jerked as the carriage starts to move. Typical travel speed for domestic straight rail stairlift carriages range between 0.07 metres per second (13.78 feet per minute, 0.16 miles per hour) and 0.15 metres per second (30 feet per minute, 0.34 miles per hour). The speed of curved rail stairlift carriages may vary on the journey if the controls cause them to slow on inclines and bends.

Q. We currently have an inflateable bath lift vai the NHS Primary care trust & it has a tear in it , the service technician came to check it & said that we have to have a replacement, he said that we would recieve a call the next day about the replacement, & we were not to use the bath lift in the meantime, on the second day still no call & so we called them only to discover that they have no replacement at all. Now we are left not being able to bathe, we obviously have to bathe especially being woman, we also have other problems that require frequent bathing, is it humane to leave two disabled people without bathing facilities what so ever with no solution? please help

I was thinking of installing a Dumbwaiter to help with plates and food

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: — admin @ 11:41 am

Q. Hi, We are renovating a house and our Dining Room will be on a different floor to the kitchen. I am a keen cook and we love dinner parties, so I was thinking of installing a Dumbwaiter to help with plates and food etc. I guess I want to know how easy this would be (the Dining Room is directly above the kitchen), and what sort of costs would be involved? Or do most companies only install service lifts comercially? Would it be worth it, are we talking silly money because of the mechanisms involved? Many Thanks Amy

A. Hi Amy,We specialise in supplying bespoke lifts to both commericial and privately owned properties. Please contact me to discuss price and sizes.Regards,Adam McKinney0121 550 1560

I have had my strairlift for the last 4 years and now the warranty has ran out

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: — admin @ 11:40 am

Q. I have had my strairlift for the last 4 years and now the warranty has ran out. I am therefire looking for someone who would supply me with a reasonable annual service contract as I feel my suppliers prices are extremely pricey

A. You can purchase extended warranty for your stairlift from several companies; one is First Senior Insurance (part of Norwich Union). If it is a straight lift you can expect to pay about £110 a year and if it is curved £140 a year. This will cover callout, labour & parts. This is cheaper than getting a service contract from some of the bigger manufactures’ who make their money from the service contacts so are extortionately  priced.I would not expect to be charged in excess of £60 for a service. We currently charge £56.00.
