How often should I have my passenger lift serviced?
This is a question to which there are as many answers as there are types of lifts. Passenger lifts need to be kept in premium condition because it is not just a product which is in danger if they suddenly fail, it is people as well. You should discuss with your supplier, as soon as you purchase the lift, how often you need to have it routinely serviced. You should also read up on the legal documentation surrounding this as well, there will be legal minimums for how long you can go without having any maintenance attention being paid to your lift. This is the case only for routine maintenance, if you discover that there is a problem, or even the hint of a problem, then you should have it seen to straight away.
A minor problem could became a major hazard further down the line. Luckily, having regular maintenance checks should pick up on any problems early and minimize the disruption to the day to day running of the lift. You should also ensure that, when you decide to have your lift taken out of action, so it can be maintained, that you have alternative facilities for physically less-abled or elderly people to use.
