Who are the largest passenger lift manufacturers?

There are a whole host of companies out there who are in the lift manufacturing business but, as with anything, there are a couple of companies who are at the forefront of the industry and whom are likely to be there for a good deal longer.  Stannah are a name which have been synonymous with lifts for many years and they have built themselves a very sturdy reputation.

As you get into lifts into major corporate buildings and complexes though, you will normally notice two names on your lift; you will either be in Otis or a Schindler (The latter causing much hilarity because you can tell people you are in Schindler’s Lift- ‘cos it sounds a bit like Schindler’s List you see). These two companies have built up a fearsome reputation for always being at the cutting edge of lift production and have been at the cutting edge of innovation and invention for years. However, they are priced accordingly with such success and thus you may want to find a less internationally renowned but just as good company; there are plenty of them about. With a smaller company you get a much more personal service anyway.
