How often should I have lifting equipment inspection?

This is a question for which no single answer can be provided; the amount of regular checks you have performed on your lifting equipment is  going to depend on how old it is, how often it is used and what sort of weights the equipment is being used to lift. It is always a dilemma for any business, you don’t want to disrupt the flow of the day anymore than is necessary and yet you need to ensure that everything is working as it should be. 

If you have purchased your lifting equipment recently then it is highly likely that you have some form of agreement with your supplier as regards the regular checking-up of the products which they sold you, and they should have talked you through the best way to maintain your product. Basically there are two things you need to do, have regular inspections as often as your manufacturer, and of course the law, think is prudent and also you need to get any problems or potential problems sorted our straight away. Major malfunctions with lifting equipment aren’t just costly, they can be very dangerous as well and thus you must get any problems seen to straight away.
