What kind of jobs is a lifting platform suitable for?
As well as being used to help with disabled access in public places and help people with decreased mobility move around their own homes, lifting platforms are suitable for many different kind of industrial jobs as well. Because they can often be attached to a hydraulic lifting arm, usually in the form of a scissor lift (a mechanism which has a brief explanation on here and also has a dedicated page elsewhere on this website) lifting platforms provide a very flexible solution to lifting problems within industry.
A goods or freight lift can only lift loads vertically up or down which may not be much use if you are in a big warehouse or factory and you need something moving to a very specific place; mobile scissor lifts and other lifting platforms can lift heavy loads to specific places and make everything run much more smooth. Lifting platforms are also suitable for repair jobs; versions of them are used in street light repair and in wire-maintenance on our streets and, because they can be attached to the back of an existing vehicle etc, they can be easily driven around to different jobs which may need doing in different locations on the same day.
