Is a wheelchair platform lift suitable?
The answer to this question would really depend on how you chose to answer it; is a wheelchair platform lift suitable for what? Wheelchair platforms are suitable for both home and public use and, contrary to what some people believe, they can be used outside as well- although clearly vandalism is an platforms also turn out to not be suitable for some people, who want them in their private dwellings, because of issues to do with finance.
Wheelchair platform lifts are suitable, in private dwellings, for people who have little or no mobility- the alternative is a stair or chair lift but this needs the user to be able to hoist them in and out and thus a degree of strength and of movement is required. In public places they are suitable for tackling awkward steps or changes in level in a building, but they should not be used for incredibly small distances (where a ramp would probably be the best idea) or distances longer than the average staircase, where a passenger lift would probably be the best option. Talk to your chosen company and come up with a solution to your access problems.
