Is a hydraulic bike lift the same as a car lift?
Well, it works on the same principles and achieves the same results through the same means, but they are shaped differently in order to accommodate the different types of vehicle which they are used for. Bike lifts needs to be much smaller and to have different supports so that a bike will be secure on them. Car lifts are obviously much bigger as well; as they need to lift a larger load and they are not, unless they in the smaller car-jack form, as portable as bike lifts can be.
Hydraulic lifts capable of lifting entire vehicles off the floor will generally be permanently fitted into their industrial setting; bike lifts tend to be much more mobile and this means that they are used more by the general public, especially bike enthusiasts and people who work on restoring vintage wheels. They perform the same basic task and are put together in the same way, but bike and car lifts have both been designed specifically with specific tasks in mind; they come from the same family but they are different siblings.
