How safe are scissor platforms?
As long as you have had the proper training, and you use them in a proper manner, then they are, in fact, incredibly safe and you really shouldn’t be worried about bringing them in to your work environment. That being said, they are clearly big pieces of equipment which have a lot of power behind them as this is why they can lift the weights which they can. You should only let authorized and trained personnel operate the scissor lifts and you should also be aware that, if anything happens to the lift whilst on your premises it is likely you and not the supplier or manufacturer who will legally be at fault. They are used by thousands of companies every day and they really are safe- perhaps it is their unusual look which brings some people to assume that they are not.
Once your staff have been trained up they should have no trouble using the scissor platforms and the only thing you need to watch out for is whether untrained members of the public will also need to come in contact with the platforms, if this is the case then you need be sure you are protecting them as well. with what is best for your business.
