What are goods elevators used for?
Goods elevators, or freight elevators as they are often named, are for the transporting of things which cannot be carried easily between levels however, apart from in certain situations, they will not be used to transport people as well. Because they don’t have to be used by members of the public, they don’t have to be kept to as high a standard, although it is still a good idea, if only to protect your goods, that they are regularly maintained and kept in a good condition.
They are often found in large department stores or in warehouses where large amounts of goods need to be transported very quickly. They are different from the smaller service elevators that one might find in a restaurant simply because they are designed on a very large scale and can carry with them much, much more. Investing in a goods lift could well be a very sound investment but you need to look into the financial costs first and also consider how much the servicing and maintaining of your new lift might be. The rest of the articles here might help you with some of the finer points.
