How often should garage lifts be serviced?
This is a question to which there is no one answer which can be easily given. The amount of servicing which each individual lift needs will be dependent on how old it is, the different types of weights which it is regularly asked to lift and, most important, how often it is used. Without knowing these details it would be impossible to simply give a generic answer. You should talk to your supplier and see what they have to recommend about servicing.
You need to set up a regular program of lift servicing where someone comes in to do a thorough ‘M.O.T’ on your lift even if there appears to be nothing actually wrong with it. In addition to this, you need to get any problems which do arise checked out immediately- even if it may only seem small and niggling, it could well turn out to be something very important and very dangerous and thus it is imperative to you, your workers and your business that it is a problem which is tackled as soon as possible. Taking action now will prevent major problems much further down the line.
