How do I find a forklift driver?
It may well be that you have a job that needs doing but, because you don’t regularly need them or use them, you don’t have anyone on your staff who is a trained forklift driver. If you do the maths, you will probably realize that it’s cheaper to hire yourself in a forklift driver than it is to send a rookie member of staff out on all the training courses which they are going to need in order to be able to operate a forklift smoothly and effectively.
Forklift driving is quite a specialist skill and thus it can often be quite a puzzle as to where you might begin to find one; look in the industrial magazines which you will no doubt have delivered to you and see if any drivers are advertising in there. Another good course of action is to talk to other companies whom you know use forklifts; they may well be able to recommend someone to you or at least point you in the right direction as to where you may well find the trained staff you are needing. Make sure you get someone who is completely qualified for the job you want.
