What are disabled access regulations?

This is a term which is banded about a lot in business, but it is one which you certainly shouldn’t be scared by; it’s something which you do need to take notice of, however.  The disabled access regulations are the laws which have been put forward in order to ensure that all people, no matter what their physical disabilities, will be able to enter all public premises equally. If you have a location which is, for whatever reason, open to the public, then chances are you will need to regulate yourself stringently in accordance with these rules and, hopefully, you will be doing just this.

The regulations are there to make sure everyone is on an equal footing- to make sure some companies aren’t spending a load of money on their premises whilst others are getting away with doing absolutely nothing. Far from being something to be scared of, however, the regulations can also help you. If you want to make your premises more disabled-friendly, but aren’t sure how, the regulations can help talk you through what you need to include and what you maybe were thinking you should have but turns out to be an unnecessary extravagance.
