When is a diesel forklift a good idea?
Diesel forklifts are amongst the most popular kind of forklift which is currently available on the market. They are more suited to doing the bigger jobs than an electric forklift is; they can lift much heavier loads to much greater heights and this means that they are more often used in heavy industry than their electric siblings.
If you are thus in an industry which needs heavy lifting to be done and you don’t fancy going down the route of a gas forklift, diesel really could be the answer you are looking for; they might cost more to run than electric ones and thus you should really only consider them if you know you have the financial capital to be able to run one efficiently; or indeed run more than one if you are intending to build a small fleet of them.
If you are, however, wanting to lift really large weights then a gas powered forklift is probably going to be the best solution for you; diesel is good for middle of the range jobs where noise isn’t really an issue- diesel powered forklifts can be very noisy and thus you don’t want to be taking them to jobs where people might be easily disturbed.
