What is the average cost of a dumbwaiter?
Again, this is a very hard question to answer simply because the market is so specialised and every customer who seeks out a dumbwaiter, or a more modern service lift, is usually doing so for highly unique and individual reasons. The collectable older versions can often cost an awful lot, but because there isn’t really a huge market out there anymore, even for the modern versions, you are likely to end up paying quite a lot no matter what sort of model you end up with.
The best thing you can do, when trying to price up a dumbwaiter, is to consider whether or not it will really be worth it for you. Service lifts, simply because they are much more popular, tend to be a lot cheaper and they do the same job. However, they will likely need more installation time and, logistically; this is something which also needs to be considered. Labour costs should always be factored into the costing of any lift and, with a dumbwaiter, such labour would be minimal and thus perhaps money could be saved this way. It’s a choice of how much you are willing to pay.
