What type of buildings need a goods lift?
This is a question which occurs again and again when people are starting to consider whether or not to invest in a goods lift. The main types of buildings which need them are warehouses which are set over more than one floor, shops which regularly need to move heavy machinery from storerooms to the shop floor (such as D.I.Y stores etc) and industrial complexes which are set over more than one floor and regularly have to move goods or heavy equipment between floors. Obviously, you also need the space to accommodate such a lift and the structural support which will enable it to be fitted in without a complete reworking of your building.
Putting in a goods lift can be expensive enough and you really don’t want to end up losing money by paying out more than you should really have to. Consider whether you actually need a goods lift, or whether a loading platform or perhaps even some lifting equipment could do the same job for you; don’t spend money you don’t have to- it could end up costing you much more in the long run.
