How does a 2 post vehicle lift work?
2 Post vehicle lifts work in much the same way as many of the other lifts which have already been discussed on this site and in much the same way as one would expect with a name such as it has.
The eponymous vehicle lift will generally work on the principle of hydraulics and, after the vehicle has been placed onto it via the garage ramps, then the two posts, normally hydraulic posts, will raise the car up in the air and secure it in place whilst it is worked on.This is a technique which is generally used for smaller vehicles, smaller cars for example, and for bikes, as it allows a secure hold on the vehicle and means they can be lifted in the air and held for long periods of time without being in danger of being dropped or damaged. This means that mechanics can take their time and get a thorough and efficient done on any vehicle which they may be servicing. Once the work is done, the posts are lowered and the vehicle is lowered back onto the ramp where it can be taken off and driven away.
